All in all, I give Fluz 9.5 stars out of 10. It is a nicely designed app, and it’s straightforward to use. It allows you to easily purchase gift cards and get cashback from your everyday purchases. I also like that it digitally stores your gift cards and keeps them password-protected, so you won’t lose them or leave them unused.

What is Fluz?
Fluz is a cash-back app that allows you to make money from purchasing gift cards. You can earn money on everyday purchases like coffee, clothes, and entertainment. You can even earn money when your friends (and their friends) buy stuff.
How does the Fluz app work?
The Fluz app works by rewarding you with cashback when you buy gift cards through their app. Here’s an example: say you are going to buy clothes at Banana Republic. You already added things to your cart, and you’re ready to check out. Rather than using your credit card, you go to your Fluz app and purchase a gift card for the exact amount of your purchase. Fluz then rewards you for purchasing a gift card through their app by giving you cash back. You use your new gift card to buy your clothes, and Fluz puts your cash back into your Fluz account. Once you reach a one-time minimum balance of $26, you can cash out from the Fluz app, and they’ll send you your cash to your PayPal account.
Signing up and getting started with Fluz
Here’s how to get started:
Step 1: Click here or download the Fluz app and use code “MONEYMAMA” to get 3 vouchers for up to 35% cashback
Step 2: Set up your account and fill in basic information
Step 3: Create a 4-digit security code
Step 4: Link your credit card
Step 5: Provide your bank details
Once you’ve created and set up your account, I’d recommend looking at the stores they have and tagging the ones you know you often use. If you need to shop at one of the stores they feature, give it a shot, and purchase a gift card for the amount of your purchase and then use that gift card from Fluz when you checkout.

Once you’ve reached the minimum threshold of $26 of earnings in cashback, the process of getting your cash is super easy. All you have to do is click on your earnings amount in the upper left corner of the app and then click on the green “transfer” button. Of course, if you haven’t already set up where you want your money sent to, you’ll have to input that info, but it’s easy.

Referrals
You can also earn cashback from inviting others to the app. In addition to earning more 35% off vouchers for doing this, you can also earn a small amount of cash back when the people you refer use Fluz. Your Fluz network can go down 15 levels, so if you focus on building your Fluz referrals, you could potentially generate a decent-sized passive income stream.
Leader Bonus
You can earn up to $180 if you invite friends to the Fluz app and make a certain number of qualifying purchases.
Pricing
The Fluz app is free to use and gives you cash back. When it’s time to transfer your cash, they don’t charge any fees, but you may want to watch out for fees on your bank’s end if they charge you for ACH transfers.

Money Hacking with Fluz
I love money hacks, and using Fluz with Rakuten is one of my favorites.
Here’s the hack:
- Make sure you’re signed up with Rakuten (use this link for $30 cash back after your first purchase), and then go to the site you will shop at (Banana Republic for example) through Rakuten. Doing this will activate cashback through Rakuten.
- Shop like you normally would and then before you checkout, make sure you go to Retail Me Not and check for any coupon codes.
- Once any coupon codes are used, purchase a gift card through Fluz for the exact purchase amount. This will help you activate cashback through Fluz.
- Enjoy the savings! A normal purchaser would’ve paid full price. Instead, you saved with coupons and 2x the cashback of a non-money hacking mama.
Tips and Tricks for Using the Fluz App for Cash Back
Here are my favorite tips and tricks for using the Fluz app for even more cash back.
Use vouchers within 60 days
You get three 35% off vouchers when you first sign up for Fluz. These expire within 60 days, so make sure you use them when you first sign up. This will also help you easily get to your minimum cash back threshold of $26.
Earn $26 Quickly
If you use Fluz once and never go back in the app, you’ll never get your cash back from the app. So I’d recommend trying to keep it top of mind the first few weeks after you download it. For example, you can buy three $10 gift cards using the 35% off vouchers. I did this for Starbucks, CVS, and Chipotle. Using your first 3 vouchers will quickly get you to $10.50 worth of cashback.
Next, if you follow the prompts under the “Earn” section, you can also quickly get $5 in rewards just for setting up your account. After that, you just need to earn another $10.50 in rewards to cash out. To do this, every time you go shopping, make sure you check the Fluz app first to see if they offer cashback for where you’re going.
Changing Cash Back Rates
I’ve noticed that retailers occasionally raise their cash-back rate. For example, Banana Republic raised its cashback rate to 12% around Christmas. Because my husband likes to shop there, I immediately grabbed a $100 gift card and snagged an extra $12 in cash back.
